A little extra info from Cat report

Caterpillar Inc. ended up spending $706 million in costs related to the layoffs, early buyout packages and other cuts it made during 2009, the company said in its fourth-quarter and year-end financial report. That took 75 cents off the company’s per-share profit for the year, bringing it down from $2.18 a share – which would have been above the expectations of Wall Street analysts – to $1.43 a share, the company said. The cuts, of course, saved the company more in the long term and helped it remain profitable through the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. The good news is that the company doesn’t expect...

Economy still struggling to take any solid roots

January has been a really scary scene. The Dow Jones taking an nose dive and the release of how horrible the economies shape is still in. Many huge companies have had profits but can we really call them profits when the money made was merely savings from nixing many thousands of workers and cutting costs verses products being made and sold. There have been thousands of top notch companies, that have projected 2010 to be a lot better in the forecast on bringing in more product sales and profits but the economy in such a fragile stage and jobs still being shed left and right my honest opinion is that we won’t see no econmical gains till around...

Where has the Dow Jones Gone this month

Who would have know that just in January 2010 the Dow Jones would lose such steam and drop 600 points in only a couple weeks time. With serious unrest in the markets and job creation still in limbo and the global markets in China having some market issues and facing there own economical slow down we have watched the markets dip more in January 2010 then in any prior month that I can recall in 2009. Caterpillar releasing it’s 2009 earnings still severly down by 39% but able to pull in a profit in the black of $7.9 billion in profit projecting a much better year for the 2010 year has had a decent return back on the share price but just January...

Is the current stock market controlling your thoughts

Is the current condition in the last few days, grabbed control over you? Has it been a positive grab or the negative talk of financial guru’s over the new policies lead by President Obama. It is my personal opinion that even with the current 300 point loose in the Dow Jones Industrial Average markets, your president has been trying to help the low income families have that chance to get there hands into the markets. Banks have disrupted the financial status of this country. Taking unfavored risks to provide huge earnings on there parts but have left millions of investors with far under what they had 2 years ago. Buying securities into hedge...

Stock market soars the last 3 weeks in july and my pennies became hundreds made

The last three weeks of July the stock market was a force to be a part of. If you had or held any stock worth gaining I am sure that you pulled in some pretty nice gains but not everyone shared in the bliss of making money and I’m sure there were some losers somewhere out there itching to bring back in what they shelled out in loses. I’m a penny stock gambler. I enjoy taking some risk and reaping some pretty sizable rewards when the week or month is through. I got interested in the markets after the economic collapse, as stocks that once soared high in the double digits but as the economy began to flutter and started to lose It’s...

Ebay is planning a 2010 IPO for skype services

Few years back E-bay Inc. purchased the well know www.Skype.com internet/Computer Messaging Communication Service. Now E-bay is finally planning a initial public offering but is unclear at this present moment when it will be released. E-bay said it is looking over current markets & pricing, before it plans to release any further details. www.Skype.com having a big audience of users in the free and paid services has definitely put it’s foot in the market and generated a lot of positive publicity since it’s introduction in the online communications market a few years back. E-bay purchased Skype for $4.1 billion dollars in November...

Caterpillar CEO Jim Owens Could Be GM’s New CEO

I work for Caterpillar and have been for the last 3 years. Maybe to some the company might be a mess but Caterpillar knows whats necessary to turn a profit and over the course of the last 7-10 years as Jim Owens has headed the company as the Chief Executive Officer, he has managed to make every year more profitable the the last. Even with the recession starting in 2007 Caterpillar has still managed to pull in profits. Like any company you can get a good idea of what the profit lines are going to be with a well rounded CEO and upper management talent. How many companies can boast a record profit margin for 10 years and every year grown significantly...

General Motors Why You Should Pick Them

General Motors now trading under the bankruptcy ticker (mtlqq). If you believe in American Culture we have always rebounded when it comes to a disaster. General Motors once the top car manufacturer in America and the first to hit very hard times, as the world crashed around the auto industry in America. Can you honestly expect that GM is really going to fold and buckle. To even think General Motors would fold is crazy but it will have to shed some lines of automobiles to stay competitive in the industry. Trading at $.72 cents and it has had a 30 cent increase in the last 2 weeks. GM will recover and like most companies it will take time as many...
